The imaging sequence for diffusion-weighted bral blood volume (rCBV). The rCBV within the lesion was imaging was Recent studies have indicated that perfusion MR imaging, both evaluation of relative CBV by using a DSC technique and CBF by using a PASL technique, can help predict the grade of astrocytoma and the likelihood of rapid progression. 9 –30 Some studies have also suggested that perfusion imaging may be helpful in differentiating treatment-related effects versus tumor progression. 11,16,31 –33 MR perfusion imaging was performed using a bolus tracking technique with dynamic susceptibility-weighted images. Colour coded maps of relative cerebral blood volume, mean transit time and bolus arrival time were generated, as well as time-signal intensity curves over the anterior, middle and posterior cerebral artery territories. The aim of this work is to assess the cerebrovascular reserve capacity by MR PWI with "ACZ" tolerance test in spontaneous hypertensive rat (SHR) and to identify its value in evaluating the CVRC.
During the first hours of stroke evolution, the regions with abnormal perfusion are typically larger than the DWI lesions, and this mismatch region has been suggested to be “tissue at risk.” 2020-09-01 This article discusses perfusion and diffusion-weighted imaging, two novel magnetic resonance (MR) techniques that may help improve the clinical management of hyperacute stroke. An imaging study that incorporates these techniques is both feasible during the therapeutic window for … Although it is CBV that is the most widely used parameter in the context of brain tumor perfusion imaging, cerebral blood flow (CBF) measurements with ASL seem to yield similar results. 62, 63 In contrast-enhancing brain tumors, CBV measured with T2 ★-weighted DSC perfusion MR imaging was found to significantly correlate with CBF measured with pseudocontinuous ASL (Pearson correlation 2016-10-07 MR perfusion imaging was performed using a bolus tracking technique with dynamic susceptibility‐weighted images. Two patients had typical visual aura and two had a primary per-sistent visual disturbance (visual snow phenomenon). All patients had normal conventional structural MR imaging. MR diffusion-weighted images were acquired with a b-value of up to 1000 s/mm 2 PURPOSE To study the method and the findings of MR perfusion weighted imaging (PWI) in normal kidney and renal diseases. METHOD AND MATERIALS Thirty-three cases, who … 2008-10-01 In this paper, we perform numerical simulation of dynamic contrast-enhanced MR imaging.

Quantitative MRI of the brain: measuring changes caused by disease.
The most common clinically applicable technique uses rapid T2- or T2 * -weighted imaging to monitor the first pass of a bolus injection of exogenous paramagnetic contrast material. The vasculature is a key feature in the histopathology diagnosis of gliomas and permits imaging associations with grade through perfusion-weighted imaging. Blood vessels are present in higher numbers within tumors than in normal brain tissue, and they tend to have a larger volume. Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI or DW-MRI) is the use of specific MRI sequences as well as software that generates images from the resulting data that uses the diffusion of water molecules to generate contrast in MR images. We evaluate the value of MR diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and dynamic susceptibility-weighted contrast material-enhanced perfusion-weighted imaging (PWI) in preoperative grading of supratentorial nonenhancing gliomas. Dynamic susceptibility contrast (DSC) MR perfusion is one of the most frequently used techniques for MRI perfusion, and relies on the susceptibility induced signal loss on T2*-weighted sequences which results from a bolus of gadolinium-based contrast passing through a capillary bed. The most commonly calculated parameters are rCBV, rCBF, and MTT . Background and Purpose—Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and perfusion-weighted imaging (PWI) are relatively new MR techniques increasingly used in acute stroke.During the first hours of stroke evolution, the regions with abnormal perfusion are typically larger than the DWI lesions, and this mismatch region has been suggested to be “tissue at risk.”

Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is a form of MR imaging based upon measuring the random Brownian motion of water molecules within a voxel of tissue. In general simplified terms, highly cellular tissues or those with cellular swelling exhibit lower diffusion coefficients. Contrast-enhanced axial reference T1-weighted imaging was performed after the perfusion MR imaging data had been obtained.

Perfusion weighted MR imaging may differentiate primary CNS-lymphoma from other homogeneously enhancing brain tumors. Abul-Kasim, Kasim LU; Maly, Pavel LU; Anita, Strömbeck; Svensson, Jonas LU and Sundgren, Pia LU () In The Neuroradiology Journal 21 (5). p.637-644 Anatomical imaging of the bile ducts is achieved by using a heavily T2-weighted sequence in magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP). Functional imaging of the pancreas is performed following administration of secretin. MR enterography provides non-invasive assessment of inflammatory bowel disease and small bowel tumors. Perfusion-weighted imaging with time-to-peak maps showed patchy regions of oligemia involving the cerebellum and pons (Fig 1D).
